Abstract

Jamila Hashmi and Adalet Agaoglu fall amongst the most well.known fiction writers in the world of Urdu and Turkish socio-progressive literature. Both writers bring human behavior and societal impassiveness under discussion in their respective countries.

Jamila Hasmi’s novel “Talash e Baharan” (the Quest of Spring) got published in 1960-61. The novel portrays changing human behavior and how one tramples humanity in context of the partition of sub-continent.

Adalet Agaoglu’s novel Yaz Sonu’s Urdu translation is published by Jamhoori Publications under titled “Anjam e baharan” (Outcome of Spring). The novel revolves around the changing cultural values, urbanization and politics of the modern Turkish society of 1970s. This article reviews how these two women writers of different cultural background view the societal problems along with the role they’re playing in solving them
