بلوچستان میں اُردو اسٹیج ڈراما : تحقیقی جائزہ

Abstract

In this article the period (1967-2000) of Drama (Theater) in Baluchistan has been explored practically. Available literature has been reviewed thoroughly and all the facts have been written year wise. Drama in Baluchistan was started in 1924 in Loralai Baluchistan and so on it was British regime and different theatrical companies came to Quetta and started theater. In the whole period many drama festivals were held in Quetta but only two Drama Festivals are on record, and all the details of these festivals have been given in this paper. Besides, personal information got from different Drama artists, writers and producers and others related to the field of Theatre (Stage Drama; the information got so far has also been written in this article. It will be a good addition in the field of Stage Drama research in Baluchistan.

Balochistan is multilingual province;however, no recordable work in other languages in theater has been done in the province except one odd theater in Pushto and Persian languages by the local drama artists but ultimately those scripts were translated in urdu and then again presented on stage. Because of poor management by the provincial Govt. stage drama in Baluchistan is almost gone.
