اردو مارفیمیات : ایک اجمالی جائزہ
Abstract
This paper provides a concise study of Urdu morphology, focusing on morphemics—the analysis of the smallest meaningful units in language. Tracing its origins to Goethe and later linguistic usage, it defines morphemes and classifies them into free and bound types. Bound morphemes are further divided into inflectional (grammatical changes) and derivational (new word formation). The role of affixes—prefixes, suffixes, and infixes—is also discussed. The study highlights how Urdu morphology explains word formation and transformation, offering insight into the structural makeup of the language.
