Abstract

New Historicism is a form of literary theory that claims that literature should be studied through its cultural context. This method of literary theory narrates that literature should be interpreted within the context of both literature and history. It also configures the power or ideology that influences the history in so many ways.  Thus New Historicism has a huge literary influential approach on literary texts. This thing emphasizes to study the intellectual history with the help of literature and literature through its cultural context. This research article depicts that how New Historicism reveals and unfolds the facts of powerful ideologies. By identifying oppressed voices New Historicism denies the narrative of power, authority, prejudices and biases. This essay also throws light on the shallowness of the cotemporary political culture and the narrative of power with the help of this literary theory.
