Abstract

Razia Fasih Ahmad is known for her versatility in literature and she holds an eminent place among short story writers. She is a proficient short story writer, novelist and dramatist. She has also produced works on children’s literature.   Razia Fasih Ahmad’s novel ‘AblaPaa’ was awarded the Adamji Award by the Pakistan Writer Guild. Her short stories in English have been broadcasted on the BBC World Service and have been published in the US. Her novel Breaking Links is translated from Urdu to English and is also available in market.

Razia Fasih’s love for story is apparent in her work of short stories. When we conduct a deep review of her short stories, it clearly reflects her proficiency in story writing and structuring the characters in such a proficient way that no laxity is found in creation of her short story.   

Razia Fasih Ahmad has very eloquently juxtaposed history with romance.  The touch of feminism in her stories has an added appeal. Her short stories cover women’s different roles in the society. Her stories do not only portray emotions of happiness, sorrows but also cover almost every aspect of life.   

Razia Fasih’s consciousness toward feminism has provoked her to enlighten women’s individual role in her short stories; hence feminism remained elementary theme in her short stories. This article investigates this aspect of feminism in the fiction of Razia Fasih Ahmed.
