Abstract

“Masnavi Jang Nama Syed Alam Ali Khan” written by Ghazanfar Hussain is an epic which was written in appreciation of Syed Alam Ali Khan’s courage and personality. He was nephew of Syed Brothers (Syed Abdullah Qutab-al-Mulk and Syed Hussain Ali Ameer-ul-Umara) and “Subaidar” of six provinces of Deccan. He died when he was 20 years old, fighting against Nawab Nizam-ul-Mulk. “Masnavi Jang Nama Syed Alam Ali Khan” was discovered and edited by Maulvi Abdul Haq and firstly published in 1932 by Anjuman Taraqi-e-Urdu Aurangabad. This epic consists of 490 verses. Maulvi Abdul Haq edited this epic with the help of three different manuscripts.
