Abstract

Emotions and feelings function in unison for adapting the sensations and emotions into specific mold.The cultural and psychological analyzes of the increasing details of sciences have not only increased the responsibilities of a writer and poet but also have opened the knot of psychiatric behavior of common man for the reader. 

The style of novel “Gardbad” (whirlwind) of Mohammad Atif Haleem, the narrative of the characters, represent the rural culture of the Punjab, along with the depiction of the intensity of sensitivity  of the novelist through specific psychology and sensuality. The novel with its symbolic and abstract style of writing has very ably kept the tradition of sculpturing the persons and their narratives in duality of village and culture. This novel with its abstract style seems to be a link between the tradition (Nairang-e-Khayal) and innovation (Gardbad) due to its abstract style. The expression of the verdicts of the traditional punchayats in Punjab and inhuman means of their implementation is dominant with full force in “Gardbad” in a question form in the treble of the past, present and future.“Gardbad” is symbolic imagination such that when someone is treated as abnormal and forced exit from "mother earth", the face of the cities start to disfigure and the name of the culture is plagued.  In the novel, rural and urban cultural mechanisms are so strong that they always awaken the sensory powers (seeing, listening, smelling, and touching) of the readers’. The combination of the local dialect and the complete cultural get-up of the characters of the story give the rich cultural gateway in the story language gives rise to a living sensitivity.“Gardbad” is a big question on the sensual and sensory levels for conscious human society.
