This article explores why native speakers often remain skeptical or indifferent toward formal grammar, frequently believing that subconscious linguistic competence is sufficient for communication. It distinguishes between the "traditional grammar" that enforces rigid rules of "correctness" and "modern grammar," which seeks to scientifically describe linguistic reality without passing judgment. The text argues that while basic communication may not require formal study, a conscious understanding of grammatical structures is essential for creative expression, avoiding ambiguity, and mastering diverse linguistic environments. Furthermore, it highlights how modern linguistics has moved away from viewing grammar as a purely logical construct, recognizing instead that every language reflects its own unique cultural and spatial reality.
